The value of family mealtime has been well documented by decades of academic research. Regardless of race, class or income, children from families that routinely sit down to a meal together suffer less depression, obesity and substance abuse. They also stay healthier and do better in school.

The United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund Australia (UNICEF Australia) is the latest organization to hop into the blockchain/cryptocurrency world — using a newly launched website called “The Hopepage”.

From their earliest days in school, children in contact with social services are at a higher risk of poor attainment at every stage of their education. They are also more likely to have special educational needs and to experience exclusions and destabilising moves between schools.

There have been times when I’ve been frustrated and, I’ll admit it, a bit hurt over my inability to connect with my teens. I’m guessing my frustrations are shared by other parents who are trying so hard but going about this relationship in all the wrong ways. I’ve worked hard to figure out when and where I was getting off-track in relating to my teens. Along the way, I confronted several pitfalls worth passing along.
